Walking the streets of Wicker Park in Chicago, OFF-WHITE can be found emblazoned on generic basketball shorts and on the backs of hooded sweatshirts. Very rarely do we see the cleanly designed current pieces Abloh has been producing recently. .
At Paris Fashion Week, Abloh unveiled his latest OFF-WHITE women’s wear collection, which shifted from his usual street-wear heavy designs. The garments Abloh produced this season consist of flowing silk separates, graphic knits, and slouchy jackets in neutral tones. Quite different from his previous collections featuring neon logos and it seems that the days of buying Ralph Lauren in bulk to make PYREX branded flannels are behind him.
Although I was never a huge fan of his previous work, this is a collection I can get behind. While I think that basketball shorts of Champion quality being sold at $279 is a little over the top, I would definitely cop this army green jacket from his current collection. Overall, I am excited to see what OFF-WHITE puts out in the future.
